Time Played: 14½ Hours
Difficulty: Hard-ass
Far Cry New Dawn is a first-person shooter developed by Ubisoft Montreal and published by Ubisoft. It is set in an open world environment which the player can explore freely on foot or via various vehicles. The game is set in the fictional Hope County, Montana and uses a reimagined version of Far Cry 5's map
The game is a spin-off of the Far Cry series and a narrative sequel to Far Cry 5.
When Far Cry 5 released, it was nothing surprisingly BUT its had a pretty good story, “Joseph Seed ” was an alright villain while not even been close to Vaas was in Far Cry 3 ( he was something else ) but it was a new direction and a pretty good one cause i enjoyed playing through it BUT now a year later we get “ Far Cry: New Dawn ” and does it involve in a new direction or is the same. Well! It's a mix-bag, Here is my Review / Thoughts on: Far Cry: New Dawn.
Pros:
+ Open-World Exploration:
Far Cry: New Dawn has the same exploration elements that Far Cry 5 had but even tho it can be the same it's still fun to explore around. While main missions are mapped out for you, the discovery of side activities like enemy outposts, treasure hunts (formerly prepper stashes), and companion recruitment missions mostly comes from your own exploration and were really fun to do cause of one thing that hold it up for me and that is……
+ Combat Mechanic:
The Combat mechanic is the same as from FC5 but now you can see the damage you do to a enemy.. Taking on outposts is fun whether you do it stealth or aggression and game does encourage you to repeat them with increasing difficulty each time you do it.

+ Open-World Places:
There are some beautiful places to explore and loot in “ Far Cry: New Dawn “ like a new type of missions introduced called “ Expeditions “, These are large, diverse maps set outside Hope County, and they feature setpieces like a New Orleans amusement park, an aircraft carrier, and even a Splinter Cell-themed plane crash ( How i wanna new Splinter cell game 😑 ). Expedition environments are a highlight, but the snatch-and-grab objectives mean that you're never really encouraged to stop and appreciate them--you're more concerned with getting the hell out of there as a non-stop stream of enemies comes after you.

+ Superpower Abilities:
A new addition to “ Far Cry: New Dawn “ is some new abilities you get during your run and they were a nice touch and fun to play around with. Example can be given as 1. A double jump, what the abilities does can be described by its name ( You can jump in mid-air ) OR 2. You can get a ability to turn invisible which might sound like overpowered abilities but they are not and this changes are undoubtedly the best thing about this game.
+ Soundtrack:
The Soundtrack in “ Far Cry: New Dawn “ is pretty great, it's a mix of rock and roll and is not bad thing at all ( Amazing Grace was the best one in Far Cry 5 ).
+ The Graphics:
The Graphics of Far Cry: New Dawn is beautiful, They landscape and weapon graphics are incredibly while the characters been alright. The graphics are good.
Cons:
- Story is Uninteresting:
The Story in “ Far Cry: New Dawn “ just lacks, It is not that interesting than Far Cry 5 and the villain in Far Cry 5 is back here but misses the point. I did not liked it and was uninterested in it from start to end.
- Bad ending:
Oh God the ending, it was awful, i did not liked how they ended the post-apocalyptic story and how they end up the “ Far Cry 5” Story ( Not gonna spoil it ).
- Bad boss fights:
The Boss fights in “ Far Cry: New Dawn “ are not fun to finish and IMO worst than “ Far Cry 5 “ boss fights were. Sorry i did not liked them
- Way Too Short:
The Story of “ Far Cry: New Dawn “ is way way too short and can easily be finished with main story within like 4-8 hours. i got the extra 4 and a half hours of doing side mission and exploring around BUT at the end it is way too short.
- Lack of Characters Development:
Far Cry New Dawn Lacks on characters development, its villains are basic and plain boring, After introducing the main characters ( You Control ) the game than leaves his Development and i did not gave a damn to what happens to him.

- Map is Same:
The Map is obviously same as Far Cry 5 but with little changes here and there, problem is its gets boring as you see the same area you already saw at Far Cry 5 but with little bit changes. And this time rather than starting from the middle and explore wherever you want, You start from the bottom of the map and only explore by going up the map. This is not a huge disappointment but had to mention it.
- Boring Main Character :
The MAIN Antagonist in “ Far Cry: New Dawn “ is just boring and has no character development. You get to know that he is the Captain and a little bit here and there and that's it.
- Microtransactions *Facepalm*:
Its Ubisoft so microtransaction has to be in it, Far Cry: New Dawn is the same as in Far Cry 5 where you can get skins, weapon skins with real life money but in “New Dawn“ you can buy materials for crafting weapons and such with real money and i did not liked that, And it's a bad sign when game force you to buy material so you can unlock weapon fast than farming which can take a while.

FINAL VERDICT:
6 / 10 ( Above Average )
