The Outer Worlds is an action role-playing game developed by Obsidian Entertainment and published by Private Division. The Outer Worlds is an action role-playing video game featuring a first-person perspective. The game received generally favorable reviews from critics.

Fallout: New Vegas was such an amazing RPG game of that time, the way you can play it multiple times and get different results were just amazing and Obsidian + Bethesda did a great job on that back then….. NOW! Bethesda made Fallout 76 which is just an awful and disaster of the game of 2019 and they have lost the touch they had on making good RPG games, BUT Obisidian is still going strong and they proved it that they can still make amazing RPG games they used to make….. And with that, we have The Outer Worlds and here is a Review on it.

The Story in “ Outer Worlds “ is really good. The player character is awakened by a mad scientist named Phineas Welles from cryosleep only to find that most of the passengers are still in hibernation and begin a journey to the nearby colony of Emerald Vale. The way you learn about the world and why those others are in hibernation is really Amazing and the story is for sure in the levels of “ New Vegas “ like.

#Side-Quests:

With the main story been good, This game almost matches the quality of the amazing “ Side-Quests “ we had in New Vegas cause they are good. You help a lot of people in these side missions and they affect your rating of how a faction likes you ( It might turn you an enemy for a faction or a friend )

#You choice matters:

The game features several factions that you can choose to help OR to destroy as well as a branching story that reacts to the choices you make.

#Companions are awesome:

You have partners to try to keep alive in this game as they are a part of your gang and they help you during fights which were an awesome addition to this game by Obsidian. They have their own skill table to level them as well as their own side-quest to do { if you chose to } where you will learn more about where they came from and what they want for their future.

Combat fares better, though it doesn't exactly shine either. Hitting foes feels pretty good, which is important. But as the AI is not so good, it fails to provide a challenge at all which is not so fun ( even in SuperNova difficulty ). Guns are fun to use ( especially the Science ones ) and When it comes to melee, the narrow field of view (unchangeable on consoles, at least for the time being) doesn't help, particularly when trying to do a perfect block BUT there are different Melee weapons to use so that’s fun. Overall the combat is not something new or incredible but it’s not bad as “ Fallout 76 “ has.

The Maps are pretty fun to explore as they are beautiful to look at and have many secrets hidden in it. With good maps design, I love the setting it is set in.

The game is also beautiful to look at as it is made with Unreal Engine ( a good engine where most games look beautiful ).

Can be played Multiply times:

“ The Outer Worlds “ can be played multiple times as there are many choices you can choose from as well as “ multiple “ endings that you can choose for your faction, characters, and Companions.

I have heard that there are a lot of issues on the console’s side of this game as there are many glitches and FPS drops so I hope it is fixed

Weapon Level 2 is basically the same as the 1st one but just a little bit better and I hated them as first they take a lot of space in your inventory and second they are not good if you have upgraded the 1st level weapons as the 1st one does more damage than the 2nd one and their design is basically the same also

There are only 5 cool Science weapons in “ The Outer Worlds “ and I wish there were more than 5 science weapons to mess around with.

Inventory menu is a mess as there is no organize button to organize your weapons and you have to look into every single one to dismantle, sell or to throw away. Hope future patch adds an organize button.

Even playing on the “ SuperNova “ difficulty, the AI is not so great and you can easily trick them and kill them with ease without dying as I mostly reloaded the game as the AI of the campaign is so dump that they die quickly and you can not revive them on supernova difficulty.

I feel like the maps while been beautiful were too small as you can explore them very very fast. While there are many secrets on the small map, I just wished it was a bit bigger so I can invest more time into this game and had more place to explore.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Final Verdict:

9 / 10 ( Fantastic )

( Must Buy )

Even having some issues, “ The Outer Worlds “ shows a big fat middle finger to Bethesda that this is how to make a true “ New Vegas “ like the game and i personally really wish that Bethesda gave the IP to Obsidian so they can make a GOOD fallout game… I hope to see more of this type of game from Obsidian cause they damn well know how to make them.
